we live next to runnymede, a beautiful open field where the magna carta was signed in 1215. usually the fields are wide open grasslands with cattle and trees but in june, the meads become a center of summertime activity. this week they hung signs for the chinese state circus in the shops around egham and erected a white big top tent in the pastureland.
tonight after work, we walked across the meads with meg, and went to the circus. the highlights were the four men who balanced ceramic pots on their foreheads and the 12 women who rode together on one bicycle.
