bear in a bag

Bear_kitmy entire lifetime of knitting experience consists of some practice pieces when i was seven, a sweater with a lot of expert assistance when i was sixteen, a half-finished scarf four years ago, and a garter-stitch square last week. so i don't know what possessed me to purchase the bear in a bag "cuddly knitted bear kit" that i picked up today at john lewis.

this evening i have figured out how to increase, which is something. after two hours, i have produced a cuddly one inch strip of furry yarn that our cat sidney is convinced i have created especially for her.

she may be right.
