i never grow tired of london. it's a vibrant, friendly city and a place i'm proud to call home. having hit a lull in my project at work today, i shifted some hours to later in the week and hopped on a train to spend this morning in town.
first stop was oxford and regent streets for a bit of shopping. i got some cute sundresses at hennes and window shopped at libery and selfridges.
for lunch i walked over to trafalgar square, where i am now--sitting outside at a cafe directly in front of the fountain. it's a gorgeous sunny day, and i have my ipod playing my favourites playlist while i drink lemonade.
my plan is to head to the national portrait gallery for an hour before heading home. but first i have to motivate myself to leave this relaxing spot, where i am cooled by the mist from the fountain and can watch happy families posing for photos on statues of lions.
magical.
[written long hand in my journal on 14 june before i did indeed spend a fantastic hour in the national portrait gallery admiring the recent aquisition of lady jane grey's portrait and visiting my other favourites before walking back to waterloo in the sunshine across the hungerford bridge; posted 15 june]
