last night, rich and i went to see the bourne ultimatum. it was the first movie i have stayed awake for in about three months! most of the world has already seen it, but if you are one of the minority who hasn't, i recommend it.
i heard a great interview on the radio with matt damon a few weeks ago, and apparently he shoots quite a few of the scenes just using the crowd, without extras. he mentioned the scene at london's waterloo station as one example. he said that when he shoots these, he just stays focused and keeps going with the scene even as people recognize him and come up to ask for autographs. they go in later and edit those bits out. i watched it with that in mind, and it's amazing. i think it adds a lot to the movie, and really works because of the gritty quality and style of the film.
