my parents did an amazing job saving everything from my childhood. madeline now reads my old books, plays with old toys, and even uses my childhood umbrella. so when she started really enjoying board games and iphone app animal match, i remembered and thought i should dig out a game raleigh and i played for hours as children: sesame street missing match-ups.
i didn’t remember the name at first—instead i could just picture the interchangeable game boards, the red plastic pieces and the box. when i was home for christmas i searched through my parents’ closets and cupboards looking for this game. i also have dug through my own storage closet and attic and even my mom and dad’s garage (a difficult feat). but to no avail.
our version is missing.
yesterday maddie and i played a round of picture pairs, which is the same concept but much less fun without the quirky images of ernie and bert, and i remembered this game again. within five minutes of searching, i found a reference online.
ebay listings seem few and far between, but i am tempted.
