on october 10, 1977, the principal of our school called me out of my first grade class to take a phone call in her office. mom and dad were on the phone, letting me know i was a big sister. i remember going to see mom when she was in the hospital, but we couldn't go inside, so we stood outside under a tree and waved at her through the window.
